As time passes, so do the needs of our community.  Enclosed within these articles are details of the many projects that have been "completed" over the history of the Rotary club of Wollongong.

  • Grace Bros Shopping Night  ( 1 items )

    The Wollongong Gateway Shopping Centre opened in 1986 and Mr Peter Oliver, manager of the Grace Bros. Department Store, advised Malcolm Heard, then President of the Rotary Club of Wollongong (1986-87) that he would like to introduce a special Christmas shopping night for the elderly and people with disabilities.

    In 1999 The Old Court House Management Committee approached our club to request assistance with a restoration project. Our club was only too happy to be involved in restoration work to the old Customs House.
  • Wollongong Hospital  ( 1 items )

    The Rotary club of Wollongong  was instrumental in the installation of the first TV service for Wollongong Hospital.

  • Inner Wheel  ( 1 items )

    Rotary has always been interested in diversifying its image and base, and this has been evident over many years with the formation of various Inner Wheel Clubs, originally brought into being for the wives of Rotarians (or Rotaryannes as they were often called).  The Rotary Club of Wollongong has been no exception, with its support in the formation of the Inner Wheel Club of Wollongong in 1961.

    The Interact Club was formed in late 1966 when Bill Dyer was President of Wollongong Rotary Club and Roger Soden was Youth Chairman

    Wollongong Rotary Club is proud of the service it has rendered to the older section of the community through the establishment of five Probus Clubs
